Grant Proposals and Guidelines

Proposals must demonstrate the intention to commit the necessary financial and human resources to a program that is well coordinated in terms of related human services within the respective communities.

Proposal Guidelines

The proposal must emphasis the innovative and substantive need for the program within the African American community and include the following six elements:

1) Mission statement of agency

2) A summary of the specific project, purpose, objectives and target population

3) A description of how the project will be implemented; include number of clients to be served, staff responsibilities, locations of service delivery and timetable of programmatic activities

4) A specific methodology to coordinate with related services provided within the community

5) Documentation of matching funds, if applicable, indicating the type and amount.

6) A description on how the project will be evaluated and who will evaluate it (include additional forms, if necessary). This form must be included with AAF/NJ reporting requirements.

Submission Guidelines

1) Proposals must be submitted (a) typed on the AAF/NJ application form.

2) All completed RFP applications must be submitted or postmarked by the close of the business day as indicated in the key dates page. Because of the number of proposals AAF receives, proposals submitted after this date will not be considered.

3) Submit the original and a copy in the order outlined in the guidelines.

4) The checklist should be the first page. And remember to keep a copy for your own files.
